Historic Estates

Billings Farm is a working dairy farm with an award-winning herd, a museum of Victorian farm life, and a lovingly restored farm manager's house.

The Calvin Coolidge Homestead is the most authentically restored Presidential birthplace in the country.

The home of Saint Gaudens, one of America's pre-eminent sculptors, contains over 100 samples of the artist's work, surrounded by lush landscaping and sweeping vistas.

The Rockefeller Mansion, circa 1805, is filled with Victorian furnishings, custom Tiffany windows and a large collection of fine art with environmental themes.

Most estates are open May through October.

Hiking Vermont Trails and Backroads Hiking
Five stunning hiking sites are within 20 minutes of the Inn. One descends to the floor of a mini-Grand Canyon, one peaks in a panoramic overview of Woodstock village and surrounding farm land. All offer peaceful relaxation and escape from city crowds and noise. Details are available in our info center. The Farmer's Market and the Village Butcher can provide exotic snacks, so bring a backpack or fanny pack along.

Shorter strolls (a couple of miles in length) along country roads are an option from our front door.

Horseback Riding
The Kedron Valley Stables, is within walking distance and offers guided trail rides and carriage or wagon rides. All of their events wind out of the valley on back roads ascending to gorgeous scenery.

Their rides are approximately an hour long, include a guide, and cost $45 per person. Advance reservations are a must, especially in late summer and fall. Serious equestrians can bring their own horses and board them at the stables.

For more information, call (802) 457-1480.

Pond at Kedron Valley Inn Swimming and Sunning
Our spring-fed, chemical-free private pond is the place to be in warm weather. It's 1½ acres in size, with a big beach at the shallow end complete with sand toys, inner tubes and life guard, and a quiet adults-only beach at the deep end. Comfortable loungers and a sunning float in the middle make the whole experience irresistible. Casual swimmers paddle out to the float, rest and return. Serious swimmers love to log the distance around the perimeter snatching glimpses of blue sky and puffy clouds with each breath.

Biking

For information on bike rentals, see Biscuit Hill in Woodstock or call (804) 457-3377.
