Winter Activities
Central Vermont is a skiing and winter sports enthusiast's dream, with downhill and cross-country skiing at the top of the list. Four major ski areas are an easy drive from the inn - Killington (35 minutes) is the East's largest ski area, Suicide Six (15 minutes) is a moderate-sized area famous for its family friendly attitude, Okemo (35 minutes) is diverse and challenging and Pico (35 minutes) is very popular with locals. Each of these mountains offers a wide selection of trails and rental equipment for skiers of all abilities.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
X-Country skiing is very popular in the region. The Woodstock Cross-Country Ski Center offers 50K of groomed trails and is only 5 minutes away. Rental packages are available.
SNOWMOBILING & SNOWSHOEING
Local snowmobiling and snowshoeing companies are available to lead tours of the Woodstock area. The well known VAST snowmobile trail system runs across a portion on the Kedron Valley Inn's property, making the KVI a perfect jumping off point for exploring the area. Snowshoeing and rental equipment are also offered at the Woodstock X-Country Ski Center.
ICE SKATING & HOCKEY
Outdoor skating on the KVI pond is a highlight of any visit, weather permitting. Indoor skating and casual hockey is offered at Woodstock's indoor town rink, Union Arena. Call the KVI for schedules and info.
